Biology Department Chair

The Biology Department of Loyola College in Maryland is searching for a chair who can lead a department with a strong record in teaching and research with undergraduates. Candidates with expertise in either developmental biology or vertebrate physiology will receive preference. This person should have a proven record in teaching and research consistent with rank at associate or full professor. The candidate also should have experience that will enable this person to lead a biology department at a liberal arts college.

Loyola College is a selective liberal arts, Jesuit Catholic institution that welcomes applicants from all backgrounds who can contribute to its educational mission. The Biology department has 300 undergraduate majors and also serves all Loyola students with courses in Loyola's core curriculum. There are 11 full-time faculty in the department who work together in a collegial and supportive manner to build a learning community among faculty and students.
