Assistant Professor, Video Production

The Position: The Department of Communication at Loyola College in Maryland invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position (Assistant Professor) in television and video production for the fall of 2005. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of studio and single-camera video production and broadcasting with sensitivity to areas of media convergence. These include the ability to teach Avid editing and effects, After Effects, basic motion graphics, and other production skills. We are looking for someone who possesses good hands-on skills, who is a creative and enthusiastic teacher, who is willing to help shape a developing specialization in the department, and who is committed to maintaining a production and/or research agenda. Ph.D. or M.F.A. required.

The Department: The Communication Department, the largest in the College (with over 400 majors), is humanities-based, writing-oriented and interdisciplinary, with a strong emphasis on experiential learning. Areas of specialization include Creative and Expository Writing, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Graphics, and Radio/Audio/Video Production, which is the newest addition to our department. A typical teaching load is 3 courses per semester.
