Assistant Professor, Pastoral Counseling

The Pastoral Counseling Department at Loyola College in Maryland is recruiting for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor in Pastoral Counseling for the Fall 2005. We are seeking a scientist-practitioner who shares our vision for training highly competent and effective pastoral counselors. Our Masters and Doctoral programs prepare graduates for academic, research, clinical and/or administrative careers in the field of counseling.
The position responsibilities include: teaching 6 graduate-level courses per year in the areas of supervision, counseling theory, and clinical practices; providing leadership, both conceptual and methodological, on dissertation committees; departmental and college committee work; and advising masters and doctoral students; academic and professional interest in two or more of these areas: substance abuse counseling, family counseling, research design/methodology, spirituality, group counseling, individual psychotherapy, and psychological assessment.
Applicants must possess a doctorate in Psychology, Counselor Education, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field and be licensed or license eligible in Maryland.
Desired Qualifications Candidates should have solid clinical and research skills and a facility in advanced data analysis techniques, as well as have, or demonstrate the potential for, an active program of research that involves the integration of spiritual/religious
themes with psychological issues. Applicants should possess an awareness of, and interest in, the mission of Jesuit higher education.
